Relationship Solutions Receives Research Grants

(Not One, But Two!)

Relationship Solutions has been selected by the California Association of Marriage and Family TherapistsandImago Relationships International to conduct a research study measuring the impact of the Getting the Love You Want weekend workshop on gay and lesbian couples. We are very excited to have received awards from these two prestigious organizations to fund the study. Very little research has been done on Imago Relationship Therapy in general, and virtually none on its impact on gay and lesbian couples. This is an opportunity for Relationship Solutions to make a significant contribution to the psychotherapy field and to gay and lesbian community.

We will study the effects of the Getting the Love You Want Workshop on two groups of approximately 50 couples each. The experimental group consists of couples who have taken the workshop, and the control group is comprised of couples who have not yet taken it. We are confident the results will prove that the Imago theory and processes, as presented in the Getting the Love You Want workshop, contribute to the relationship satisfaction of gay and lesbian couples. We are excited about this opportunity to prove what we already know: Imago Relationship Therapy is an effective means of achieving relationship success in all types of relationships, and most especially, those of gays and lesbians.
